A journey to worship.

Psalm 100

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.

Know that the Lord is God.

It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.

For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

They travelled for days to reach Jerusalem. As they neared the city, this was the Israelite's song of thanks and praise. There was nothing better than to be in the house of God.

Today, you don't have to journey to a temple to worship with God. He's with us whenever we gather around his word.

But much is the same: God's faithfulness hasn't changed. You still have a reason for joy like them.

Gather with God's people, hear his Word, receive his gifts, and let your thanksgiving overflow.

When you gather with other believers, what are you most thankful for in that experience?

Col. 3:15–17 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Read the context Have you had to...

1 Chron. 16:7–12 That day David first appointed Asaph and his associates to give praise to the Lord in this manner: Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; β€” make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; β€” tell of all his wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name; β€” let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. Look to the Lord and his strength; β€” seek his face always. Read the context Who's the most accomplished person you can think of? A CEO?...

2 Cor. 4:8–11 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body. Read the context "They just don't make 'em like they used to."
