Christ's Acceptance, Our Unity.

Romans 15:5–7

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.

Group projects can be frustrating. Differing opinions, ideas, and voices all push against each other. But the best groups thrive when all come together.

The body of Christ — the Church — is filled with many different people, but that doesn't mean we should be photocopies. Instead, God calls us to accept and celebrate our differences... and rejoice in the unity that matters:

A shared faith in Christ Jesus.

What differences do you find hardest to accept in the family of believers? What did you bring to the table when Christ accepted you?

Isaiah 11:2–4a The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him — the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord— and he will delight in the fear of the Lord. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears; but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. Psalm 130:1–4 Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord;Lord, hear my voice. — Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy. If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, — so that we can, with reverence, serve you. Read the context "Can anybody hear me?!" Your voice echoes out from the bottom. Alone and afraid... Sin has made you helpless in it's trap. All you can do as cry out for help. A rope lowers down. A hand reaches down to pull you out....

Luke 1:35–37 The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. For no word from God will ever fail.” Read the context Some promises seem too good to be true — a great deal on a car... an offer in your spam folder... You can't trust it. As Mary...
