Acts 17:22–23

Paul then stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus and said: “People of Athens! I see that in every way you are very religious. For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: to an unknown god. So you are ignorant of the very thing you worship—and this is what I am going to proclaim to you.

Everyone worships something. They might not label it as worship... but what you dedicate time and attention to, what you trust is what you worship.

Paul noticed the very clear idols in Athens. Do you see your own? Do you see what other people trust?

Scripture reveals what is actually worthy of worship. The God who created all things is on your side. Jesus is the proof.

You know the goodness of God.

Where do you see your own tendency to trust or worship something other than God? Why don't you need that idol?
