God was talking about you.

Galatians 3:6–9

So also Abraham “believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”

Understand, then, that those who have faith are children of Abraham. Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.” So those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.

Abraham couldn't have imagined it. People from different nations and times in history... all called his children.

God's promise to Abraham was so much bigger than just a literal family tree — it was a family of faith that is still growing.

You are evidence of a promise fulfilled. Through faith, you're grafted in and blessed along with Abraham — the man of faith. God's promise hasn't reached its limit yet.

How does it change things to see yourself as part of a story God has been telling for thousands of years?

What does Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” Now to the one who works, wages are not credited as a gift but as an obligation. However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as...

Genesis 12:1–2 The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you;I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. Read the context The boxes are packed. The truck is loaded. You don't know a soul where you're going. Why would Abram choose to move? Because while he didn't know the place he was going to, he knew the one who promised. By faith he stepped out...

Matthew 4:1–4 [Nicodemus] came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Read the context Nicodemus was one of Israel's most educated men, and he still couldn't swim in the deep end. He couldn't understand who Jesus what his purpose was. But Jesus didn't meet...
