Mark 4:38–41

Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”

He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”

They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”

I can hardly sleep during a storm... in my house safe and sound. Imagine sleeping on a boat under duress.

Jesus' response to the storm teaches you about his power. He has no need to fear. He's in control awake or asleep.

And you have no need to worry either. Your Savior is paying attention to you.

Rest easy knowing that Jesus rules over every power you can ever encounter.

When have you found yourself exhausted from worry? How does knowing that God is always watching change the way you rest?
