Held together in Christ.

Col. 1:15–17

The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

Gravity keeps the planets in place. The seasons change. The stars shine to give light.

But something is behind all of it.

Since the moment of creation, God has been sustaining this world through his power. Present there and still powerful today is his Son — Jesus.

The same God who holds all creation is the one who rules for your good.

And he has made himself known to you as your Savior.

What changes when you remember that the God who controls the universe calls you his own?

Read the context The universe was dark. No sun or stars brought light. But with just a few words it all changed, "Let there be..." The miracle of creation mirrors what God did in your heart. The voice...

Luke 2:28–32 Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying: “Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, — you may now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.” Read the context The credits start to scroll across the screen. The lights turn on and the theater empties. It's time to go. Simeon had waited his entire life for this moment....

Ephesians 3:4–6 In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to people in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets. This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus. Read the context The clues were there throughout the Old Testament. God was planning...
