Hope in resurrection.

Mark 5:40–42

After he put them all out, he took the child’s father and mother and the disciples who were with him, and went in where the child was. He took her by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum!” (which means “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”). Immediately the girl stood up and began to walk around (she was twelve years old).

A father pleaded with Jesus for his little girl's life, but death still took her. It wasn't final though. With just two words her life was restored.

Death is an enemy that waits for everyone. It darkens your hope for the future. It doesn't listen to your pleas.

But Jesus does.

Death could not contain him, and he will reverse death for you.

You have hope that lasts forever.

Based on Last Night's sermon from Mark 5...

When have you found yourself succumbing to the fear of death? What difference does it make that Jesus can defeat death?
