Jesus stepped in first.

Matt. 9:35, 10:7–8

Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.

As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.

Before Jesus ever sent his disciples out, he had already gotten his own hands dirty: healing the sick, teaching, and carrying the weight of your sin to the cross.

Ministry doesn't start with your willingness to work harder. It started with Jesus mercy toward you.

Now he keeps pouring out that same compassion through ordinary people... pastors & teachers... and you.

"Freely you have received; freely give."

Based on this weekend's sermon on Matthew 9&10...

Since Jesus already stepped in for you, what's one small way you can show his compassion to someone else today?

Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” Read the context Lawns left uncut. Carafes crusted with old coffee. Laundry sitting in the dryer for a week. Psalm 100 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.Know that the Lord is God.It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Read the context Sheep. Not shepherds. We didn't choose the Lord... HE chose us and made us. It wasn't because of who you are, but because of who the Lord is. You are his sheep. That's something worth singing about! Come before the Lord with gladness knowing that you are...

1 Kings 19 Elijah was afraid and ran for his life... He went a day’s journey into the wilderness. He came to a broom bush, sat down under it and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, Lord,” he said. “Take my life." All at once an angel touched him and said, “Get up and eat.” He looked around, and there by his head was some bread baked over hot coals, and a jar of water. He ate and drank and then lay down again. The angel of the Lord came back a second time and touched him and said,...
