Quiet faithfulness.

Exodus 1:16–17

Pharaoh said... “When you are helping the Hebrew women during childbirth... if you see that the baby is a boy, kill him; but if it is a girl, let her live.”

The midwives, however, feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them to do; they let the boys live.

Pharaoh's plan was terrible and dark. He wanted control so badly that he was willing to kill babies to make it happen.

But God is more powerful. By faith, the midwives did what was right in God's eyes. The midwives just thought they were working with integrity. They had no idea what God was using them to do.

You may never see the full impact of your faithfulness to God, but God does. Trust him. He'll bless it.

When have you faced pressure to compromise what you believe? How was God's word your guide?

Psalm 1:1–4 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, — but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither — whatever they do prospers. Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Read the context A gust of wind blows through...
