Significant witnesses.

1 Cor. 15:3–6

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep.

The resurrection was not a hidden fact. Easter day began with women discovering an empty tomb... but Jesus would eventually appear to hundreds of people.

Why does this matter?

Because without a living Jesus, the Christian faith does not matter.

But Jesus is alive. It happened just like he said it would.

And one day you will see him with your own eyes too.

Why is it comforting to know that the resurrection isn't just the claim of a handful of individuals? How does God's word make you a witness to?

There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. Matthew 27:57–60 As evening approached, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who had himself become a disciple of Jesus. Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus’ body, and Pilate ordered that it be given to him. Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and placed it in his own new tomb that he had cut out of the rock. He rolled a big stone in front of the entrance to the tomb and went away. Why is waiting for God's deliverance often difficult? The tomb is sealed,...
