Sin's snowball.

2 Sam. 11:26-27

When Uriah’s wife heard that her husband was dead, she mourned for him. After the time of mourning was over, David had her brought to his house, and she became his wife and bore him a son. But the thing David had done displeased the Lord.

Often sin leads to more sin. David's lust lead to adultery, led to lying, led to murder.

But even if the dominoes don't fall that far, don't be fooled — hiding sin is always more harmful than bringing it to light. Why?

Because where there is confession, there is healing. God forgives his children even when sin feels like a trap.

God's mercy is waiting. Don't let shame keep you in the dark.

David's sin spiraled from lust to murder. Have you seen sin snowball in your own life? Where did it start, and where did it lead you?

1 Thess. 4:9–12 Now about your love for one another we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other. And in fact, you do love all of God’s family throughout Macedonia. Yet we urge you, brothers and sisters, to do so more and more, and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be...

Are not even the tax collectors doing that? Read the context Quid pro quo is not Jesus' way. Jesus' death is not...

Matthew 5:38–42 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.
