Take God's word with you.

Psalm 27:1, 13-14

The Lord is my light and my salvation
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life
of whom shall I be afraid?

...

I remain confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living.

Wait for the Lord; —
be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord.

What are you most afraid of... The doctor's appointment with bad news? Your busy life running you over?

You can't avoid those places of fear... but you can take God's word with you. This Psalm is a favorite for hospital visits and hard moments... Why?

Because it begins and ends with assurance: Salvation is found in your God and that won't go anywhere.

The problems may chase you through this life, but you have an eternal stronghold in your God.

What fear are you carrying this week? How does God being your stronghold change how you face it?

Romans 15:5–7 May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. When people shout or speak together, the impact is unmistakable. But first, they all...

Colossians 2:8–10 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ. For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority. Read the context We often trick ourselves into thinking the more we know, the more secure we'll be. But head-knowledge meets its...
