Take him at his word.

John 4:49-51

The royal official said, “Sir, come down before my child dies.”

“Go,” Jesus replied, “your son will live.”

The man took Jesus at his word and departed. While he was still on the way, his servants met him with the news that his boy was living.

The official had no immediate proof that his son was healed. He'd have to travel all the way home to see his child.

But he took Jesus at his word.

While you wait to see your Savior, you hang on to his words. That's faith.

And like that father, you won't be disappointed.

God is faithful with every promise he makes in his word.

What promises of God do you have to trust without immediate proof? What does this story teach you about God's faithfulness?

Ephesians 3:4–6 In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to people in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets. Read the context The clues were there throughout the Old Testament. God was planning...

Isaiah 60:1–3 Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth — and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you — and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, — and kings to the brightness of your dawn. Read the context The neon sign glows outside the restaurant — OPEN. The bright sign brings people in from all over. A literal light led Magi to meet the Savior. And he still leads with his...
