The work can be too heavy.

Exodus 18:17ff

Moses’ father-in-law replied, “What you are doing is not good. You and these people who come to you will only wear yourselves out. The work is too heavy for you; you cannot handle it alone. ... Select capable men from all the people—men who fear God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain—and appoint them as officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens.

Moses was completely overwhelmed in his role as leader. Why? Because instead of asking for help, he was trying to do it himself!

Faithfulness in your vocations does not mean doing everything yourself. Often, it means finding the humility to admit you need help.

God has given you gifts to serve others. He's given you people to serve with. And he is a helper who sees your greatest needs. Trust how he helps!

Based on our study Vocation: God's Purpose in my Life.

Why do you struggle to ask for help in your vocations? Where might seeking help allow you to serve God more faithfully?
