Trust God's perfect timing.

John 2:1–5

On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.”

“Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.”

His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

Moving to a bigger city has made me impatient when I ship from Amazon. Now, a two-day delivery feels too long. I want it here on my time!

God has a plan for how he is working in our lives. Like Mary it can be hard to see. Do you ever feel like asking God, "Why isn't this on my time?"

But God's plan is always better than our own. At just the right time and in just the right place he sent Jesus to save us.

There's no better timing than that!

What is one promise from God's word you're patiently waiting for? What can his word remind you while you wait?

John 20:26-29 A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.” Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!” Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” Read the...

Psalm 16:9–11 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; — my body also will rest secure, because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay. You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. Read the context The living can do very little in a graveyard. You can plant flowers or clean a tombstone, but you can't stop the decay below ground. God can. Long...

Romans 6:8–10 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. Read the context Death is a cruel boss. It always wants your attention... You're always working to avoid it... and there's no payoff! Jesus died once so that death would no longer be in charge. Since he left...
