Trust the expert.



Matthew 4:1–4

Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’

Experts always make it look easy. But that doesn't mean it was.

Jesus' victory over temptation looks effortless... but the temptation was real. He was hungry, exhausted, vulnerable. And the devil knew it.

So how did Jesus win? Not by sheer willpower, but by wielding the Word of God. "It is written..."

Jesus didn't just resist temptation for himself. He resisted it for you. Jesus is your champion.

And you now have the same weapon he used — the Word of God.

Based on last night's sermon from Matthew 4...

Jesus not only understands temptation, he also experienced it like you… Yet he still defeated it. What comfort do you find in having a Savior who both knows your weakness and who stands victorious?
