1 Samuel 7:7–9

The rulers of the Philistines came up to attack them. When the Israelites heard of it, they were afraid because of the Philistines. They said to Samuel, “Do not stop crying out to the Lord our God for us, that he may rescue us from the hand of the Philistines.” Then Samuel took a suckling lamb and sacrificed it as a whole burnt offering to the Lord. He cried out to the Lord on Israel’s behalf, and the Lord answered him.

Samuel wasn't a mighty warrior. He was a prophet who pointed the people to God and prayed for them.

When life's worries stand in front of you, strength doesn't always look like toughness. It looks like Samuel: Quick to prayer. Filled with trust.

And remember you don't face these threats alone. You have friends, a Pastor, and Christians around the world praying for you too.

You can stand unafraid.

When you're afraid or under pressure, where do you first go for strength?
