Rev. 22:1-2 & 17

Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. ...

The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.

I wouldn't drink straight from the Ohio River. A fresh mountain stream? I'd consider.

God gives you a stream of clean, living water in his word now, and as you look ahead to the life to come it keeps getting better —

There where you live you'll see the life giving water of God.

It will give life to you and to all creation.

The Spirit says come. The bride says come. And one day, you will.

When you picture the life to come, does it feel real and near to you — or distant and abstract? What does God's word say about that?
