Blessed hardships.

Luke 6:20–23

“Blessed are you who are poor,
for yours is the kingdom of God.
Blessed are you who hunger now,
for you will be satisfied.
Blessed are you who weep now,
for you will laugh.

Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man.

“Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their ancestors treated the prophets.

Flying at 30,000ft, you have a new perspective of the world below. Everything has changed.

Jesus brings you a new view of your life — where what the world calls bad you can call blessed.

Why? Because hardships in this life point you back to the one to come.

You can rejoice no matter what you face because you know what has been promised to you.

When have you faced difficulties that point you toward your Savior?

2 Kings 5:1–3 Naaman was commander of the army of the king of Aram. He was a great man in the sight of his master and highly regarded, because through him the Lord had given victory to Aram. He was a valiant soldier, but he had leprosy. Now bands of raiders from Aram had gone out and had taken captive a young girl from Israel, and she served Naaman’s wife. She said to her mistress, “If only my master would see the prophet who is in Samaria! He would cure him of his leprosy.” Read the context...

Rev. 21:3–4 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Read the context This world is broken. You see it in disasters, destruction, and terror. You see it in yourself — in mourning,...

Heb. 11:37–40 They were put to death by stoning; they were sawed in two; they were killed by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated— the world was not worthy of them. These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect. Read the context How bad could life get? For many believers, about as bad as it...
