Come see for yourself.

John 1:45–46

Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

“Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” Nathanael asked.

“Come and see,” said Philip.

Nathanael didn't expect a backhills town like Nazareth to be the place his Savior would come from.

Philip doesn't try to convince him. Instead he gives him an invitation:

Come and see for yourself.

Do you know someone who wonders how you can find peace in an unlikely place like God's word?

Don't try to convince them yourselves... Instead invite them:

Come and see Jesus for yourself!

Who might you invite to come and see Jesus like Philip? What is one way you could invite them to learn about their Savior?

1 Cor. 2:14–16 The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, for,“Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?”But we have the mind of Christ. Hosea 3:1 The Lord said to me, “Go, show your love to your wife again, though she is loved by another man and is an adulteress. Love her as the Lord loves the Israelites, though they turn to other gods..." Read the context The Prophet Hosea's wife was unfaithful. But God told Hosea to reconcile with her. Why? It would be an illustration for us of God's love: Our sin is faithlessness. Our rebellion shows our love for anything but God. We are an unfaithful spouse to God. Yet his love does not...

Romans 5:9–11 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. Read the context What's the most expensive thing you've ever purchased?
