Don't wait for the boat.

John 21:6–7

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” As soon as Simon Peter heard him say, “It is the Lord,” he wrapped his outer garment around him (for he had taken it off) and jumped into the water.

Peter denied knowing Jesus just hours before Jesus would be crucified. Now, Peter gets to see his loving, forgiving Savior raised to life.

No wonder he can't wait for the boat.

Remember who's on the shore waiting for you. The same Jesus who forgave Peter knows you. Your living Jesus forgives and loves you.

Seek him in his word. Don't wait for the boat!

Why might you hesitate to approach your Savior in prayer or confession? What does Peter's response to seeing Jesus teach you?
