God's final word.

Hebrews 1:1–3

In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

The last 15 minutes of a movie or chapter of a book needs to wrap things up. The ending is the end.

Scripture describes Jesus as God's great and final word. He's the conclusion of what all of Scripture has been leading toward.

Prophets looked ahead to a deliverer. The disciples saw a powerful teacher.

And now you look back at his time here, and ahead to when Jesus will return.

You don't need to look for something new from God. Jesus was the point all along.

What does seeing the whole story of the Bible centered around Jesus teach you about God's character?

Acts 1:10–11 They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky?
