God's glory reflected.

Psalm 8

You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor.

You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet:
all flocks and herds,
and the animals of the wild,
the birds in the sky,
and the fish in the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.

Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

The earth has a natural hierarchy — predators, prey. Stronger animals and weaker ones.

Yet in a world of powerful creatures, God places humans above the creation.

Humans beings are the crown of creation. Created by God to tend to this earth. Reflecting his glory in a small way.

But even this role is a reminder of God. Only he can sustain this world.

Even though humans are given honor over creation, we are still meant to see that all authority and care ultimately belong to God alone.

How should this responsibility of caring for God’s creation shape the way you treat the world and the people in it today?

John 16:12–15 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.” Read the context In...

Romans 8:26–27 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.
