Going in with a plan.

Acts 17:16–17

While Paul was waiting for them in Athens, he was greatly distressed to see that the city was full of idols. So he reasoned in the synagogue with both Jews and God-fearing Greeks, as well as in the marketplace day by day with those who happened to be there.

The Apostle Paul's mission strategy was simple: 1. Be where people are. 2. Talk to them about Jesus.

Do have a tendency to complicate talking to people about Jesus? Are you waiting for the right moment or place?

Make Paul's plan yours — Spend time with people. Know their needs. Know them. And then when the time is right, bring them to know Jesus.

All it takes is a simple invitation. God will handle the rest.

When do you find yourself overcomplicating witnessing? Where do you already have ample opportunities?

It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. Truly I tell you, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them. Read the context The kids lean over the edge of the couch anticipating...

Psalm 130:5–6 I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning. Read the context When are you a clock-checker? At the end of the work day? When you're waiting for a delivery? Your whole life is connected to an eternal clock. This earth waits for the Lord's final deliverance — Jesus' return. While you wait, trust. Know the God who forgives. And never lose sight of the...

Acts 17:30–31 "In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.” Read the context All the proof was there — fingerprints, eye-witnesses, confessions. An open-and-shut case. The empty tomb proves to you that God has set his plan into place. He calls all people to look to the cross and...
