He knows every star.

Isaiah 40:25–26

“To whom will you compare me?
Or who is my equal?” says the Holy One.
Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these?

He who brings out the starry host one by one — and calls forth each of them by name.

Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.

Orion's Belt... The Big Dipper... The North Star. If you look up at night can you recognize the big ones?

Up in the sky are more lights than you can count, painted across a dark sky. They're not there by mistake. Each was placed carefully by the Almighty.

The same God who has power over those great things makes himself small at Christmas — in a little child.

The one who commands the stars becomes the one lying in a manger, bringing rescue for you.

When have you felt overlooked or forgotten?

What does it mean that the God who keeps track of every star came to earth for you?

Matthew 3:10–11 "The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire." Read the context In springtime, you don't hesitate to clear out what's dead. The ax is at the root. John's warning is clear: judgment is coming, and no one...

Romans 15:5–7 May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. Read the context Group projects can be frustrating. Differing opinions, ideas, and voices all push against each other. But the best groups thrive when all come together....

Isaiah 11:2–4a The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him — the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord— and he will delight in the fear of the Lord. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears; but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. Read the context Someone cuts in line in front of you — loud and...
