He's loyal to God's plan and to you.

Matthew 26:52-54

“Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword. Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels? But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?”

His friend and student betrayed him. He was surrounded by a hateful mob, and one of his disciples wanted to defend him.

But Jesus said no.

Not the disciples nor the angels would save him from walking toward the cross.

This had been God's plan all along – That Jesus suffer in your place.

He walked toward the cross because of his loyalty toward you.

Reflecting on Last Night's Devotion on Matt. 26:14-16,47-56...

Where have you seen your own disloyalty toward God's commands?

What does Jesus' loyalty toward you teach you about God's love?

How might you remind yourself of your value in God's eyes?
