How long will you wait?

Hab. 1:2–3

How long, Lord, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, “Violence!”but you do not save?

Why do you make me look at injustice? Why do you tolerate wrongdoing?

Destruction and violence are before me; there is strife, and conflict abounds.

The prophet Habakkuk saw what you see — a world filled with injustice and pain. It tested his patience.

Does it test yours? When you see pain and suffering... When you see hatred and anger... When you see brokenness... Call out for God to listen.

Then tell others of the healing he brings. Point them to the deliverer they need.

Because God will make all this new.

When have you felt like suffering or pain would never end? How does knowing you'll spend eternity with God help when life is hard?

Likely not, right? You want what they've got! Jesus calls for you to wait. He doesn't tell you when he's coming back... just that it will be soon. But you want what he's...

Luke 12:35–37 “Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, like servants waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him. It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. Truly I tell you, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them. Read the context The kids lean over the edge of the couch anticipating...

Psalm 130:5–6 I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning. Read the context When are you a clock-checker? At the end of the work day? When you're waiting for a delivery? Your whole life is connected to an eternal clock. This earth waits for the Lord's final deliverance — Jesus' return. While you wait, trust. Know the God who forgives. And never lose sight of the...
