Romans 8:18-21

I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.

Empty fields, or mountains... what do you prefer to look at on a long drive? Some views are so different, the comparison is strange.

Your life here on earth is so familiar, that it feels like all there is. But if this is the view, it's a letdown filled with pain and brokenness.

Look forward to what's coming. This life isn't all there is. In the doldrums of life or in suffering... know this:

God has your eternity in view, and he'll reveal it to you soon. He's secured it in Jesus and now it waits.

Why do we often live like this life is all there is? What would it look like to live this life in view of the next one?
