Not made with human hands.

Acts 17:24–25

“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else."

Paul could see the idols the Athenians worshiped. They were searching for something to trust.

Carved statues don't fill our stores, but people still lean on idols — money, relationships, entertainment.

Like Paul, you have something to share with them. They need something permanent to trust.

And you have a God who gives life.

What are common idols you find people trusting in? How have you seen that God is better than those idols?

He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.” Read the context All the proof was there — fingerprints, eye-witnesses, confessions. An open-and-shut case. The empty tomb proves to you that God has set his plan into place. He calls all people to look to the cross and...

Acts 17:16–17 While Paul was waiting for them in Athens, he was greatly distressed to see that the city was full of idols. So he reasoned in the synagogue with both Jews and God-fearing Greeks, as well as in the marketplace day by day with those who happened to be there. Read the context The Apostle Paul's mission strategy was simple: 1. Be where people are. 2. Talk to them about Jesus. Do have a tendency to complicate talking to people about Jesus? Are you waiting for the right moment or...
