Thank God for: the food we eat.

Psalm 65:9–11

You care for the land and water it; —you enrich it abundantly.

The streams of God are filled with water — to provide the people with grain, for so you have ordained it.

You drench its furrows and level its ridges; — you soften it with showers and bless its crops.

You crown the year with your bounty, — and your carts overflow with abundance.

Dinner rolls, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, and a turkey. The table is covered in food on Thanksgiving.

None of it is there by accident.

Before the busy kitchen or the farmer's work, God was working:

Through rain and sunlight he provides crops and food.

That's something to thank God for every day.

What blessings do you treat as automatic instead of gifts from God? How can you remember God's hand is there?

1 Timothy 2:1–4 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. Read the context Paul encouraged believers to pray for a government that persecuted them. Why? Because God uses even what appears bad for good —...

Psalm 148:1–4 Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord from the heavens; praise him in the heights above. Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his heavenly hosts. Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all you shining stars. Praise him, you highest heavens and you waters above the skies. Read the context The earth is constantly talking. Can you hear its message? Stars shine. Sun and moon give light. The sky stretches further than you can see. Like an impressive work of art tells you about the...

Psalm 100 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his;we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgivingand his courts with praise;give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. Read the context They travelled for days to reach Jerusalem. As...
