The cost of following.

Luke 14:25–27

Large crowds were traveling with Jesus, and turning to them he said: “If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple. And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.

Following Jesus isn't cheap... In fact it's costly. It impacts your comfort, priorities, and even your relationships

The price is too high for you to handle. And if following is about being your own savior, then you're out of luck.

But it's not. Instead you walk behind Jesus who carved out a path to God. And by faith you understand what God was willing to do to save you: It wasn't cheap — it cost him the life of his son.

You follow Jesus because your God has called you priceless.

Where have you noticed the cost of following Jesus the most? Why does Jesus cross make that struggle worth it?
