There in everyday moments.

Luke 10:25-37

But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. ...

“Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”

The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”

Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”

Jesus’ parable of the Good Samaritan isn’t just about emergencies—it’s about everyday moments.

A neighbor might be someone you’d rather avoid, someone awkward or inconvenient to your schedule.

But love doesn’t live in theory. It lives across the street, in your office, at your table.

Jesus didn’t look away from your need—he moved toward it with costly, uncomfortable mercy.

Now, as his eyes, heart, and hands, you’re called to love the same way.

When have you been tempted to narrow your view of “neighbor” like the teacher of the law? What is one way you can show the love of God to a neighbor this week?

And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain. Read the context In the middle of a storm, the lighthouse worker puts out the light.
