A repurposed life.

1 Peter 2:9–10

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

A broken piece of furniture gets repurposed for decor. It has a new purpose. A new life.

Apart from God, you were broken, lost, and in the dark. With him, you're called a special possession.

Your life has meaning and purpose beyond your greatest imagination.

You're now sent with a new purpose — to praise and talk about the one who gives your life meaning and joy.

So go!

Which of the descriptions of how God sees you resonates the most? Who do you know that needs to know the same thing?

Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine, you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites.” Read...

Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds...

Psalm 112:6–7 Surely the righteous will never be shaken; they will be remembered forever. They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord. Read the context The phone rings in the middle of the night. Your boss asks for a one-on-one. You feel bad news coming. But the things that feel big can be small. You can't be shaken. Your eternity is held in the hands of a loving God. Your life belongs to him. Bad news is still bad. But you have the best news of all to...
