A time before (almost) everything.

Genesis 1:1–3

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

It's tough to imagine nothing. You live in a world filled with stuff... so what was before the "stuff"?

Before the world you know, God was.

The Triune God was present in eternity — nothing created God. He has always been.

Just with the word of his mouth he created everything you see.

The God who created the universe is on your side. When you don't know what's next trust this: the God who has always been will be for you.

How does knowing God existed before everything change the way you see his power over your life & circumstances?

And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Read the context On top of the mountain, I'm certain the disciples were worried about the future. Psalm 8 You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor. You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet:all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! Read the context The earth has a natural hierarchy — predators, prey. Stronger animals and weaker ones. Yet in a world...

John 16:12–15 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.” Read the context In...
