Don't be afraid.

Luke 5:4-8

When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!” For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken, and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon’s partners.

Then Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid; from now on you will fish for people.” So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.”

Can you remember a moment when you felt completely unworthy or out of place? Maybe you made a mistake or your limitations were seen.

As Peter falls down in the boat, he's overwhelmed by more than the countless fish. With the Son of God in front of him he's face to face with his humanity.

You do not need to be overwhelmed by your lowliness before God. Hear Jesus' voice today:

Don't be afraid. You are forgiven.

When have you felt unworthy to stand before God? What comfort does this story give you for those moments?
