Everyone reports to someone.

1 Peter 5:2–4

Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.

Everyone is responsible to someone at work—a manager, team lead, or client.

Peter writes these words to church leaders, but they're a good way to think about any role of leadership:

Remember Jesus is above you.

But that’s not something to fear. He calls us to lead joyfully, humbly, and with love – not control.

Because one day your work on this earth will end. And because of your Chief Shepherd's work, you can expect a crown of glory.

What is one way I can better be an example of Christ’s love to those I interact with today? What might need to change in my tone, actions, or attitude?
