Exodus 34:5–7

Then the Lord came down in the cloud and stood there with him and proclaimed his name, the Lord. And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.”

Whenever you meet a friend-of-a-friend, you get the spiel... this is what they're like, this is why you'll like them.

But who gives the introduction for God? No living being can. Only God himself can tell you who he is. Perhaps that's a good thing. Why?

Because when God introduces himself, you already know he's being truthful. He's a God of compassion, mercy, and kindness, delighting in forgiveness.

You have that introduction: in his word... in the person of Christ. Get to know the God who set aside his glory to save you.

Who do you know that does not yet know the Lord? What words would you use to describe your God to them?
