The price God paid for you.

1 Peter 1:18-20

For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.

You remember life’s biggest purchases: The excitement of buying an engagement ring… Signing paperwork to close on your house…

God bought you back with a currency more valuable than the sum of every US dollar. He used blood… and not just any blood: the blood of the only perfect lamb.

Jesus knew what he was doing when he laid down his life. He knew the cost, and he paid it gladly. Why?

Because you’re immensely valuable to him. The greatest purchase in history was to bring you back to God.

How does knowing God’s purchase price for me reframe how I see myself? Others?
