This is about Jesus, not me.

John 3:26-30

They came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, that man who was with you on the other side of the Jordan—the one you testified about—look, he is baptizing, and everyone is going to him.”

To this John replied, “A person can receive only what is given them from heaven...
He must become greater; I must become less.”

John the Baptist had been the center of attention, but now people were going to Jesus instead. He doesn't get jealous. Instead he welcomes this saying:

“This isn't about me. Jesus needs to be greater.”

We often want to be the most important, but a life with Jesus celebrates humility.

Greatness is pointing others to Jesus.

What does it mean for Jesus to become greater in your life? How can you live that out today?
