Today you wait.

Luke 23:50-53

Now there was a man named Joseph, a member of the Council, a good and upright man, who had not consented to their decision and action. He came from the Judean town of Arimathea, and he himself was waiting for the kingdom of God. Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus’ body. Then he took it down, wrapped it in linen cloth and placed it in a tomb cut in the rock, one in which no one had yet been laid.

Born to a family in Israel. He was known as the son of the carpenter.

But he was also God's son.

He lived like us... but without sin.

Completely blameless, he died in your place.

Lifeless. Buried. Now we wait.

For Jesus promised that the grave could not hold him.

But today, we wait.

What does Jesus' burial teach you about the deep humility of your Savior?

Habakkuk 1:2–4 How long, Lord, must I call for help, but you do not listen? — Or cry out to you, “Violence!” but you do not save. Why do you make me look at injustice? Why do you tolerate wrongdoing?
